Financial Assistance
In 1922, a support fund from Kappas was launched in response to Rose McGill, a Toronto Kappa suffering from tuberculosis. Her Kappa sisters paid for her care until the end of her life. Today, the Foundation provides financial assistance to Kappas in unexpected times of need. The Rose McGill Grant program provides financial support and sisterhood for both undergraduate and alumna Kappas through confidential aid, disaster relief and emergency assistance grants.
Kappas may request financial assistance on their own behalf or on behalf of another member.
When life gets tough, you can count on your Kappa Family to be there.
To apply for financial assistance, please visit the Foundation webpage.
To make a gift to the Foundation to give a helping hand to sisters in need, go to donate.kappa.org and choose “Rose McGill Aid” from the selections.
As a local chapter we support the Baughn Fund, Kappa Foundation, Rose McGill Holiday sharing and the Friendship Fund. These funds are focused at helping both undergraduate sisters and alumnae. The Baughn Fund is a Kappa Foundation scholarship/financial aide for Beta Mu actives and alums. It was created by the generous gift of Marian Sims Baughn in memory of Irene Sims Elofson and Elaine Sims Hawkins. Beta Mu Alums can make requests, and it can be monies to attend school or financial assistance for other needs.
